About Cunningham (Me!)

"An African writer looking for the American dream." Sounds nice, right? But really, I'm just trying to feed my wife's chocolate habit.

I grew up in South Africa, where I drew circles around villages, chased wildebeest, and still managed to spend too much time indoors.

Then, as any sensible person would, I left my otherwise idyllic life for one of risk, adventure, and no shortage of time in front of a computer.

I have a background in marriage and family therapy and counseling, as well as a long history of creative writing, copy writing, and content development. I'm also a huge sci-fi and fantasy nerd.

So with training in talking to people, solving complex problems, and a drive to be creative, what does I do? Why, web and software development, of course!

What to Expect from Me

I prefer simple approaches. I tend to code with simplicity and ease in mind - if I can get something to work with as few steps as possible, I'll do it.
I also prefer to avoid relying on libraries and frameworks for most projects - while they have their uses, they tend to produce unimaginative and passé results.

I'm happy to learn as I work, and I'm never afraid to receive feedback. I prize myself on being a quick learner and adaptive worker, and I'm alwayslooking for new problems to solve and opportunities to grow.
